The Handmaids Fort Lauderdale Theatre reviews
surprisingly let down
We were excited when we first bought the tickets some time ago (two years ago?) to see The Handmaids. This was the second time my wife and I were going to the venue. I'm not sure if my disappointment is more with the artists or the venue. I extremely dislike mobile ticketing when I bought the tickets. Mobile ticketing was the only option available. I like having the ticket stub as a keepsake. Just my view point, don't make mandatory mobile ticket if you're not allowing mobile phones at the venue. The doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm, no problem. We arrived shortly after 6, watched the security/yonder people struggling to open pouches to put your phone in. We waited in our seats for almost two hours with no notification of any kind. No announcements or anything that they were starting the show an hour late. Maybe if we had our phones, we could have entertained ourselves instead of getting increasingly irritated. We found our seats and waited for the show to start. By this time, the evening was ruined for us. It didn't matter how funny they were, we were too irritated to laugh. I don't know who screwed up the show for us, but someone did. We've been to the S Center for other shows, concerts, football, and hockey games. Normally, everything goes a little smoother.
